Sodium Persulfate (SPS) is used in combination with Tris (2,2′-bipyridyl) dichlororuthenium (II) hexahydrate (RU(BPY)3) (sold separately) for photopolymerization of hydrogels and bioinks under visible light wavelengths (> 400 nm, with higher activation at 450 nm).
