REGEMAT 3D Publishes New Method for PLA-Hydroxyapatite Scaffolds onLabMethods
Granada, Spain – December 23, 2024 – REGEMAT 3D is proud to announce the publication
of a new laboratory method on LabMethods: the FOss-HA line, developed by Dr. José
Manuel Baena. This protocol details the fabrication of PLA (polylactic acid) filaments
enriched with hydroxyapatite (HA) for 3D printing bioactive scaffolds aimed at bone tissue
engineering and regeneration.
By incorporating varying concentrations of hydroxyapatite (5%, 10%, 15%, and 20%) into
PLA filaments, the method allows for the customization of mechanical and bioactive
properties to meet specific tissue regeneration needs. Hydroxyapatite, a principal component
of human bone, enhances the osteoconductivity and biocompatibility of the scaffolds, making
them particularly suitable for biomedical applications.
This advancement underscores REGEMAT 3D’s commitment to providing researchers with
innovative tools and protocols to advance the field of regenerative medicine.
